Frequently Asked Questions:

What space is required to use the Garmin Approach R50?

Unlike radar-based units that require significant depth behind the golfer, the R50 sits just 1.5 feet beside the ball, facing your hitting area. This makes it incredibly space-efficient for tight indoor studios. You simply need enough room to swing your club safely and adequate distance for the ball to travel into your impact screen or net.

Do I need a subscription to use the device?

The built-in driving range, impact video playback, and all 15+ ball and club metrics are available without any subscription. However, to play virtual rounds on the 43,000+ preloaded courses via Home Tee Hero, you will need an active Garmin Golf™ membership, which is currently £8.99 monthly or £89.99 annually in the UK.

Can I connect the R50 directly to my projector?

Yes. The R50 features a direct HDMI output. You can run a cable straight from the launch monitor into your BenQ or Optoma projector to display the built-in simulator directly onto your screen, completely bypassing the need for a gaming PC.

Does the R50 measure detailed club data?

Yes, the unit utilizes three high-speed cameras to capture comprehensive metrics, including club head speed, face angle, club path, and angle of attack. To achieve these precise club measurements, the R50 requires the use of small tracking stickers on the club face (250 stickers are included in the box).

Do you offer installation for the Garmin R50?

We operate strictly as a supply-only business for simulator equipment and components. Fortunately, the Garmin Approach R50 is a plug-and-play unit featuring a built-in 10-inch touchscreen, making it extremely easy to set up yourself at home or take to the driving range. While we do not offer turnkey installations, we can provide 3D CAD spatial planning drawings if you are mapping out a full enclosure around your new launch monitor.
